Consecration of a 'Golden Fence' to a Sacred Boo-Tree
November 08, 2014The recently affixed 'Golden Fence' covering the sacred Boo-Tree of the Aluthwala Purana Nandarama Temple was declared open by the Secretary Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa in a religious ceremony held at the temple premises in Aluthwala, Ambalangoda on Thursday (6th Nov).
President Rajapaksa said that his Government believed in strengthening the public service. He said that he believed the public sector can do a better service to the people than the private sector. The workforce of the public sector has now come up to 14 hundred thousand. The President said that the public servants are the ones closest to the people and requested them to do their duty by them.
