Having won a parliamentary seat for the first time in 1970 and after being defeated in 1977 Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to Parliament in 1989. Here senior Journalist Dharman Wickremaratne revives his memories of his experiences in working closely with the present President for over a month during the general election of 1989.
