Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed South African Graham Ford as new National Head Coach.

Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Thilanga Sumathipala said South African Ford has been appointed for a period of 45 months from the 1st of February. Ford had already coached Sri Lanka for two years, beginning in early 2012.

Country Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Sri Lanka, Joern Soerensen and Norway’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Thorbjørn Gaustadsæther signed an agreement to extend the Norway government’s support to the recently resettled communities in the Jaffna district.

The Annual Duruthu Perahera of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara will be held from 20-22 January.

President Maithripala Sirisena says that there is no any foreign influence in formulating the new constitution and this will be done understanding the needs of the country, even though some extremists groups spread false rumours across the country that the Government is preparing to implement the new constitution under foreign influence.
