The first ever Science Walk organized in Sri Lanka by the Ministry of Technology and Research was held today in grand scale with the participation of Minister of Technology and Research Patali Champika Ranawaka, Scientists, officials of the Ministry and affiliated institutions, Officers of Tri Forces, Schools and University students including vehicles displaying local technology, water rockets, various technology exhibiting vehicles,. Around 1500 were present.
The Technology and Research Ministry has named the period November 4 to 10 as National Science Week with the objective of facilitating development of the science and technology field by going beyond the normal tradition of celebrating Science and Technology Day
The Science Walk was initiated parallel to the National Science Week to exhibit new innovations. The National Science Week will come to an end with the World Science Week celebrations on Nov.10.(KH)
