Day 1 – Round Table – Gender Equality Perceptions on Gender, and Social Stigmas and Lack of Awareness
May 07, 2014The Round Table sessions of the World Conference on Youth (WCY) 2014 began at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Hall (BMICH) this morning. Speakers and Delegates representing over 110 countries divided into seven different themes, and Gender Equality was one of the topics discussed.
The informal ministerial meeting of the World Conference on Youth (WCY) 2014 took place in Hambantota today (May 6) following the opening ceremony with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Mr. Dullas Alahapperuma being appointed the Chair of the meeting.
The Sri Lankan Parliament will allow six adjournment questions equally distributed among the Government and Opposition members. in lieu of the adjournment motions, from Wednesday, May 07, announced the Speaker.
The Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, Pakistan, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, along with a group of provincial assembly members, called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this morning.
