Ceremony to mark World Environment Day 2015 was held at Viharamahadevi Park, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena on Saturday (June 6).
The ceremony themed ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’ was organized by Parisarika Jana Sansadaya in collaboration with Colombo Municipal Council, under the directions of State Ministry of Environment.

Australia Foreign Minister Julie Bishop on Saturday said the Islamic State was using chlorine in attacks and recruiting highly trained technical experts to make chemical weapons.
“The use of chlorine by Daesh, and its recruitment of highly technically trained professionals, including from the West, have revealed far more serious efforts in chemical weapons development,” The Hindu reported quoting Ms.Bishop.
