Germany’s oldest remaining nuclear reactor has been shut down, part of a move initiated four years ago to switch off all its nuclear plants by 2022.

Greek banks and the stock exchange will be shut on Monday after creditors refused to extend the country’s bailout and savers queued to withdraw cash, taking Athens’s standoff with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund to a dangerous new level.

Greece’s banks are on the front line as Athens moves towards defaulting on a €1.6 billion payment due to the IMF on Tuesday., the Hindu reported.

Freeze on funds

Showers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the afternoon or evening.

Due to the convergence of wind flow, showery weather will continue in the southwestern part of the country and strong southwesterly winds over the country and surrounding sea areas are expected, the Met Dept. forecasts
